I’m Indian and British-Pakistani from Azad Kashmir, Pakistan.

My 4th great-grandfather’s name was Vival Townes.

Vival is a Sanskrit word that translates to “turn away”.

Vival, is often misspelled as Vinal or Vivle by the AI that Ancestry uses to scrape census records.

Our family tree.

My 1st cousin, 3 generations removed, received Northern Indian & Pakistani as a result on his 23andMe DNA results.

We’re both Thomas Jefferson’s grandsons. There’s talk of Thomas being both Egyptian, and a Sephardic Jew by way of Italy, France and Portugal. Moreover, his y-chromosome is from Canaan.

Harold shows markers of having Spanish and Portuguese DNA. I have Egyptian markers. And Thomas had an Egyptian corner at his home in Monticello.

Harold and I’s DNA results. Showing our Egyptian and Pakistani ancestry.

My possible 12th great-grandmother, born in 1600 in Whalley, Lancashire, England, Sara Gale Bond was buried on 3 April 1651 in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan.

My ancestors were either indigenous or the mulatto children of white men. So, my connection to Sara hinges on my mulatto 3rd great-grandmother Rachel Johnson being the bastard of the Rappahannock family of William F. Johnson.

Due to Rachel Johnson being descended from enslaved persons, there are no documents — that I could find — available to prove a connection other than their surnames matching in a remote, unincorporated community in Virginia called Powhatan.
